The world’s largest wedding website came to Aimee with an idea: Take a group of engaged social media influencers and their partners to another country and talk weddings. Aimee suggested Guatemala, for its natural beauty and growing reputation as a destination wedding spot. A group of 60 flew down for a five-day getaway. A welcome party was held in a pair of ruins in downtown Antigua, with the mayor in attendance and a full processional between the two sites. At brunch the next day, The Knot introducing their new paperie line and a panel of esteemed wedding pros led an educational discussion before the group broke for a Spin class on Villa Bokeh’s front terrace. That evening’s rooftop dinner at the historic Casa Troccoli included a tasting of renowned Zacapa rum, followed by a dance party and congo line.
The next day the group headed to Azotea Farms, where they learned how to make chocolate. A textile-dyeing class was followed by lunch and a guided shopping experience. At the final night’s formal gala, Aimee showcased the work of talented local vendors with a gourmet meal, signature cocktails and a show-stopping room that wowed the attendees. The night concluded with a fabulous fireworks display, against the backdrop of a huge volcano.
